Perserverence

Wow, what a blessed and wonderful day we are living in this day! We are truly living in a day that He has made so lets make a decision to be glad and rejoice in it!

I have a note clipped to made desk lamp in my office. On it reads the definition of perseverance which is, Steady persistence in a course of action, a purpose, a state, etc., especially in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement. I find myself reading it multiple times each day and thanking God that the strength for me to perserver is not my own but His.

I know many of your facing different things this day as we also have been here in this US Office. But I want you to know that whatever it is, you are not alone! We walk this day & every day with the Creator of ALL that is good, right, and Holy. We can and will perserver through this time and anything else that tries to come our way, not by our works and ideas BUT through His. It has to be His ideas & timing to be eternal and life long other wise it will be just a band-aid for a moment. I have been listening to Brother Keith Moore teach and he made a statement that set me free, and it was this, "Don't fill in the blanks". I myself have been very guilty of filling in the blanks on things if God has not given me the answer by the time I thought I needed it. But Keith is not filling in the blanks anymore, and with that gives me peace because it is on Him and not me any longer! I am not going to carry the weight of something that I have not yet the answer for.

Whatever you are facing in this day the Word says in 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP) Casting the whole of your care (all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all) on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. We have to a make decision to release, wait, and hear from Him and while we are doing this, perseverence by His strength will bring us through.

Keep Reaching Forward,
Keith

What an awesome word from John Maxwell

Changes Worth Making By John Maxwell

Comfort lulls us into complacency. We get accustomed to routine or familiar with a role, so we settle in. As leaders, we must relentlessly challenge ourselves not to let ease and security dissuade us from making the changes necessary to fulfill our vision.

Perhaps the most difficult transition I chose to make as a leader came when I resigned from Skyline Wesleyan Church in 1995. I was perceived as a respected leader within the denomination, and my reputation with the church congregation was stellar. The city of San Diego was a great place to live, and both financially and professionally I was doing well. Yet, I knew that I had not yet tapped into my full potential. I aspired to train leaders domestically and internationally, and I could not give that vision the time it required while leading the church. It was tempting to let go of my vision in order to stay in a safe and successful position. Yet, I understood that to achieve the growth I desired as a leader, I would have to make the change.

TRADING UP

Life is a series of tradeoffs. If we’re going to grow as influencers, then at different junctures of life, we’re going to have to let go of what we have to take hold of something better. We must give up to go up.

When we’re just starting out in life, the tradeoffs are relatively painless. Having barely established ourselves, it’s easy to part with our present situation so that we can pursue opportunities to expand our influence. However, the higher we go, the tougher the tradeoffs become. We get attached to what we’ve built and become invested in our success.

To illustrate, consider the process of moving to another city. Relocation isn’t tough when you can pack all of your belongings in your car. However, moving no longer comes as easily when you own a nice home with a big yard in a great neighborhood. The more we have, the more averse we become to change.

I’d like to recommend three tradeoffs you ought to be willing to make in order to reach your potential as a leader. Each involves risk and requires change, but all are more than worth the effort.

1) Exchange Affirmation for Accomplishment

Stop being a people-pleaser. If you always say yes when you would rather say no, then you will find yourself unhappily going through the motions of living, giving control of your time, energy, and spirit to anyone who asks for it. Fundamentally, leadership involves serving others and adding value to them. However, you do that best by proactively and strategically contributing your strengths, not by passively allowing others to dictate how you spend your time.

2) Exchange Security for Significance

Security can be tough to pass up. We like the certainty that comes with being in a stable job, making a steady income. Yet, significance usually calls for risk. It involves stepping away from familiar territory in order to explore new lands. To be a pioneering leader, you have to change your attitude toward uncertainty; otherwise you will confine your influence.

3) Trade Immediate Victory for Long-Term Sustainability

To excel as a leader, you have to change the timeframe in which you view success. If you measure your performance solely in terms of immediate results, then you run the risk of giving up when times are tough. Also, when you only concern yourself with present professional achievement, you tend to neglect relationships, ignore your health, and lose all sense of work-life boundaries.

Summary

Staying the same means stagnating. Leaders must plunge bravely into the future to avoid bogging down in complacency. Rather than fearing change, embrace the possibility it offers

Day 12 of my 14 day count down to Valentine's Day

Day 12
Wow, what a great day! I love nothing more than to spend an entire day with my dream girl! Sadly though came home to no internet :( So doing this quick post through my tried and true iPhone. Debbie and I were talking today about our first Valentines. I was also well reminded that she for sure she did a better job in the gift department that year ;) I once heard our pastor say that Debbie's dad taught him how to give.... I set back and think about my life and my wife and I would say I learned the same from her. TeAmo Angel!!!

Thought:
Have you ever set back and thought about the impact that the love of your has brought to your life? I have and I thank God for it!!!

Life is so Good =~}

Day 11 of my 14 day count down to Valentine's Day

Day 11
What a wonderful day, got one of those "FYI we are leaving in a few minute" surprise lunch dates today!!!! What else can I say other than PERFECT!!!! Life is so Good =) Thank you Angel <3

What I really feel that I want to say today about my wife is this. Angel I love you greater than any words could possibly describe and will spend the rest of my life showing it. Instead of shouting from the tallest mountain, I will type it on the largest social network =) That's making the best of technologically!

Thought:
What is something out of the norm you have done to tell your love, I LOVE YOU? If you can't think of anything, then its time to create one of those memories. Come up with some out of the norm way to say I love you. In fact try it over the next 3 days! Remember a seed sown produces a harvest!!!!
